When your life crosses with wonderful people, those people that from the very beginning you feel you can trust and with whom you randomly find out you have many things in common!
I drop the kids to school, I go back home and someone knocks the door; Ruth is standing outside with a bunch of cookies that she baked this morning for Jaume and Candi. So exciting! She’s a great chef; I had eaten so many meals in her restaurant! She is now coming to learn more about our project. So we started the tour: we walked through the orchard, the garden, climbed to the tower, visited the farm, the river… as we keep talking and sharing experiences I realize that I am in front of a lovely person, transparent, simple and a fighter; Someone in love with the soil, someone that loves what she does and enjoys the simplicity of the daily life. And it turns out that we both studied hospitality in Switzerland! She went more into kitchen and I went for hotel management.
After being diagnosed with a chronic illness, she didn’t accept it so she decided to learn about it. She began to study dietetics and nutrition to understand how our body works and the food properties. She was sure she could recover her health through food and consuming organic; almost one year later… she is getting there!
So we are in front of a brave and entrepreneur woman! I encourage you to follow her through her Instagram @ruthcocinatuvida and visiting her blog www.cocinatuvida.com where you can find a huge variety of healthy recipes; from vegetarian, to fish, meat even a gluten free section, amongst other tips.
The kids where so excited when they came back home and found all the cookies! Those delicacies deserved a special setting so… Candi took her picnic basket and prepared an afternoon tea party with them! Following are a few pictures.
