Recently someone told me “Living in the countryside must be beautiful and interesting but tough”. Yes, it is not always as idyllic as it looks. It can be rough and tough sometimes. But at the end of the day… Your attitude when facing challenges and the way you look at things will determine your feelings, your strengths, your state and therefore your happiness. I consider very important to value those little things, observe, feel and do what you like. Is life in the city always perfect? I am sure not! It might be easier but not perfect and probably not as beautiful.
Today I am going to share a very inspiring 20 sec reading story by Paulo Cohello that made me realise how lucky and rich we are living this way. I hope you will enjoy it! ❤
🌿 One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from the trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”
“It was great, Dad”.
“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.
“Oh yes”, said the son.
“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.
The son answered:
“I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
“We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden and they have a creek that has no end.
“Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
“We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
“We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.”
“We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
“We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”
The boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added:
“Thanks, Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

Oh wow this is beautiful! I love Paulo Cohello he is my favorite writer, but I guess i missed out on this book, whats it called?
Yes everything from outside looks so beautiful and breath taking, from everything you share, I try my best to follow and cheer for you every time I see a post from you. Yet I can’t imagine how difficult it also can be living in a farm with two small kids… Especially when you were use to a different life style, I see that the girl I knew in college where had her nail polish always fresh, with always branded clothes, and always looking fresh are no longer apart of your daily life anymore… Hence those beautiful hands now touches one of the most rich soils that gives an amazing energy to your body and many more factors. But most importantly you create, you created and even more important than that is that you created something from scratch, those pumpkins, all the vegetables. Nor did you only stop there you put food on the table by simply combining the veggies you make yourself, u don’t stop there either, you give, you help, you sell. I am so proud of you! You are not only a book smart prettiest girl I have met in Switzerland anymore, you are more than that, you are ”a life smart” prettiest young girl and a mom farmer ever! Be proud of yourself everyday! Also heads up of doing this page so incredibly beautiful and inspiring for other moms when your hands are full. To end I would like to quote my dad, every time we are all together as a family he says ”I am so rich” as in he is rich only cause he has us.
With Love,
Y.Y.
Ouuu!! I had not seen the comment until now Yagmur! Thank you so much for taking your time to write this beautiful words <3 Almost made me cry! It is important to have a very positive mind and never give up. When something life gives you lemons... make a juice! And consider it a new step to a new opportunity with more knowledge acquired.
And absolutely agree with your dad's words... "Family first" forever! Nothing else needed. 🙌 Hope we will catch up soon somewhere! 😘
